Can anyone tell me if it's normal for a Matamp of this type to have a slight buzzing, similar to the noise caused by certain lighting. It doesn't increase when the amp is turned up so it doesn't get in the way of playing at volume, but if I were to be playing/recording very quietly, it could be noticeable.

I've turned both channels and the master to minimum but it's still there. The only difference being the buzz is louder in pentode mode than triode.

Have you tried using the amp on a different circuit/location? If in doubt, call the factory and talk it through with them. The obvious solution is to play/record very loudly. Seriously, have a look if there's any source of electric interference in the room. A halogen lightstand with a dimmer for example. I used to have that problem in our rehearsal space, and ended up turning it off and rehearsing in the dark. On the other hand since you say it isn't getting any louder when you turn the amp up, maybe interference isn't the problem. Give the factory a ring just to be sure.

Not sure if you have ever experienced this but it was really wierd as it was very quiet........ We could only hear it if we got right up to the amp and as the stack is so big it was as if some dude was inside the cab.....!!!!!
