hi, i have to change my power valves soon.

im asking if somone has tested different power valves.

i like the stock JJEL34, but there are some more interesting tubes out there

the EH6CA7, electrial its an EL34, but the sound is somewhere between EL34 and 6L6.

I know most of you guys don't really care for my voice, but where as my last track was recorded with mostly stomp box distortion, this one relies on the amps cranked tone with a little boost added, so hopefully that's some consolation. Someone said the last track sounded muddy, that could have been because I was mixing through cheap computer speakers. This time, however, I have purchased a set of Samson Revlon A6 series and the mix seems a little less garbled to my ears. Hopefully...

So I've been working on this song for about two month now and have tweaked it until there is nothing left to do but share it. It features my GTO in 60 watt mode with only a little dirt form the preamp. Master is around 10 o'clock, so most of the gain is coming from the D*A*M Sonic Titan distortion. Any comments, listens, or critiques are much appreciated!

GT1 making crazy screaching noises...!!

So...to my dismay, I'm having some sort of issue with my GT1. It sporadically makes super loud, crazy screaching noises that last only a few (but very annoying) seconds, followed by a few more seconds of weird humming, and then it's back to normal. It does this even in standby mode! Very odd, very disappointing, i have to say. It seems no matter how much money I spend on "top" gear, I'm always plagued with problems! Aarrgghhh!!!!
Any advice/ info on this,...

Hey guys.

Im owning a GT1 since one year now. I think ive played with all settings possible, with different guitars and all i can say is...

These Amps are truely incredible. There is nothing compareable on the market (execpt the ampeg v4) till today.

The sound these Amps deliver (i speak for my GT1) is sooooo incredible. Its loose, dark and dirty... Its the tone in my head, ive been looking for.

Before, i played a ENGL Savage120 and hated all...

Hey all.. Got this amp from Howie V for my friend. Had it for a couple of days and it totally blew my mind. The amp has two channels. The first one has more gain, the second one is more of a vintage vibe. I play post-metal/sludge mostly, so oversaturated distortion with tons of low end - that's my sound. The amp's boosted Maxod OD-9 to add more chug.

As you might've guessed I spent more time playing it rather setting up the stuff for making proper audio samples. So...

Slight ' Buzz '

Hi, as I've mentioned elsewhere, I've become the owner of a V28 Mk2, which is my first Matamp.
Can anyone tell me if it's normal for a Matamp of this type to have a slight buzzing, similar to the noise caused by certain lighting.
It doesn't increase when the amp is turned up so it doesn't get in the way of playing at volume, but if I were to be playing/recording very quietly, it could be noticeable.

New (and very happy) Matamp owner checking in. Just got a Minimat 2 and 1x12 cab. Looks and sounds fantastic - the photos don't do the cab justice, the brown shimmon cloth is really neat. My '62 Strat is a little thin sounding when plugged straight in, but my new SG gives me the exact sound I'm looking for and through my Big Muff it sounds totally awesome. I'm now looking forward to letting rip without the attenuator

Just got my new GT1 on the weekend and it looks absolutely fantastic! Im still waiting to let her rip properly (practise aint til Saturday) but it does sound tasty at living room volume when Im using it in triode mode rather than pentode.

The amp is a GT1 with customised faceplate (rather than the stock silver faceplate), black snakeskin covering with gold coloured corners n handle hardware, chicken head knobs and a red power light. I also got the guys to up the power from an 80w...

Recently traded two Orange heads (90's OR80 and AD30HTC) that I wasn't happy with for a GT1, which I love so far.

The Orange amps were both ebay purchases, so i bought them without really hearing them first. I just kind of "went for it" based on internet research i had done. What i found was that they both seemed to have a strange, bright treble timber that would not go away no matter how you dialed them in. My friend even ran his Hammond B3 through the OR80 and it...
